Location / Soil

South to southwest / green and blue schist; quartz veins

Vine age

14 years. The vineyards were cultivated as such for centuries, but were closed down in the 1940s. The soils were allowed to rest and regenerate for 6 decades.

Harvest / Yield

23 September 2017 – 10 hl/ha

Fermentation

Grapes trampled with feet; pressing after 6 days, spontaneous fermentation in 600l barrels.

Storage / Removal

11 months in amphora; 18 months in bottle.

Analysis

13.0% alcohol; acidity 5.5 g/l; 0.7 g / l residual sugar

Filling

Optimal drinking maturity / drinking temperature

2021 – 2035 / 12-14°C

Recommendation: decant the wine at least 3 hours before drinking.
